Chicken Cordon Bleu

This has to be one of everyone’s favorites, right? Who would not love chicken stuffed with ham and cheese? This is quite easy to make and it will definitely

enhance you experimenting with chicken recipes. Yummmmmm :)

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 chicken breasts (they will serve up to 4 people)

  • 2 eggs

  • breadcrumbs (I usually use Italian breadcrumbs)

  • flour

  • salt & pepper

  • Cheese - I used Havarti cheese

  • Ham - I used black forest ham

Instructions:

  • Cut the chicken breasts in half the long way. If they are really large you can cut it in half and half again but not all the way through, more like making a pocket. This is where you will put the cheese and ham.

  • I tenderize the chicken a little on both sides, this will make it softer.

  • I put the Havarti cheese x 1 piece and 1 or 2 slices of black forest ham in the middle

  • prepare 3 soup bowls or 1 bowl and 2 plates

  • You will put flour in one, then crack 2 eggs and put it in the middle soup or pasta bowl and you will put breadcrumbs in the last one

  • Beat the eggs and put salt and pepper in it

  • Dip your chicken in the flour and make sure it is covered all sides

  • Dip your chicken in the eggs and make sure it is completely covered

  • Dip your chicken in the breadcrumbs and make sure it is covered all sides

  • In a frying pan heat up oil (I usually use grape seed oil when I fry anything)

  • Once it’s hot place your chicken pieces in there and fry them until gold brown both sides.

  • I heated the oven to F350 and I put the chicken in the oven for an other 15 minutes after I fried them just to make sure they were well cooked. If the chicken is a bit thicker you would probably need to do this and if it’s thinner then it’s not needed. Just make sure you serve it when it’s fully cooked.

I served the chicken with rosemary roasted red potatoes, salad & garlic sauteed asparagus

Bon Apetit!
